OLDER ADULT PROGRAM ASSISTANT - Open until filled

We are seeking a Older Adult Program Assistant who is passionate about helping older adults thrive and has experience and relatability in racially diverse settings. The Program Assistant prepares and carries out programs and activities for older adults in Madison. Experience in racially diverse settings is important to the success of our Older Adult Program work. Supervision by the Program Coordinator.

Primary Duties

  • Oversee programming and outreach to older adults around Madison.

  • Prepare for and implement programs and activities.

  • Interact with older adults to make them feel welcome.

  • Establish and maintain neighborhood/community relationships.

  • Help identify programs that address the social, economic, intellectual, educational, spiritual, cultural, physical and emotional aspects of aging.

  • Encourage older adults’ involvement in NewBridge programs and services.

  • Strong people skills; ability to work with people of diverse populations.

Other Responsibilities

  • Ability to lift and/or shift weight such as tables and chairs, etc.

  • Ability to work independently and professionally with fellow staff, volunteers, participants and collaborative agencies.

  • Computer skills using Microsoft Office software, such as Word and Excel.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum required: High School Diploma or GED.

  • Previous work with older adults is a plus.

  • Criminal/Caregiver/Credit screening

  • A writing sample and/or computer exercise may be requested

Schedule

  • 30-32 hours per week

  • Hybrid Work Model

Salary and Benefits

  • $16-19 per hour wage

  • Benefits Package $6,000
